Finish Options

Our finish options are Antique Brass, Dark Antique Brass, Dark Brass, Verdi Gris and Antique Copper.

All fixtures, unless noted, can be made in solid brass or copper. Our products consist of a living finish, which is hand applied to provide a stunning overall color. We do not paint or lacquer our fixtures.    

Living Finish

We use the term “living” finish.  But what does that mean? Any metal other than stainless steel that is not coated or lacquered will oxidize over time, acquiring a unique “patina”. This means the finish will change and transform through exposure to the environment.  

A living finish is a much sought-after look when buying copper and brass, without an added protective coating, these materials are allowed to age gracefully in their natural state in what is referred to as the living finish. Over time, the finish will oxidize with exposure to nature, adding more character and uniqueness to your custom piece. 

Environmental factors specific to your home that may be exposed to the surface of your fixture are the great unknown. Every finish application and environment are different. Some factors include rain, sun, wind, salt air/proximity to the ocean, pollutants, humidity and cleaning products and household chemicals.

Glass Options

Our flat glass options are:

Clear Glass

Clear Seedy Glass - a lightly seeded option

Seedy Marine Glass - a heavier seeded option

Frosted Glass.    

Globe Options

Our onion and round onion globes are American made hand-blown glass. Our optic and seedy glass globes will have slight ripple variations and/or differences in bubble count making each piece unique. Due to the techniques used in the art, pieces blown and finished by hand contain these unique attributes are typical of high quality hand blown glass.

Return Policy

Our product is made to order and therefore a 25% restocking fee will be assessed with returns. All returns require a return merchandise authorization number please contact customer service to obtain this. No returns will be accepted beyond 60 days of receipt of order.

Cancellations are not allowed once production has begun on any fixture. A Cancellation Fee may be assesed.

Verdi Gris finish fixtures and Custom fixtures are non-returnable.

Occasionally fixtures may arrive damaged or with broken glass from the shipping process all damages must be filed within 30 days of receipt in order for us to process a damage or glass replacement claim.

Lifetime Guarantee

The Northeast Lantern Lifetime Guarantee is a statement of our desire to provide a thoroughly satisfying experience when selecting, purchasing and living with your light fixtures. With the exception of glass, electrical and finish Northeast Lantern products are guaranteed for life.


Northeast Lantern guarantees our lighting fixtures against cracking, breaking or defects in workmanship under normal use for the lifetime of the fixture. With the exceptions listed below, should any fixture fail, please contact your nearest Northeast Lantern Distributor. A list of authorized distributors can be found on our website. Northeast Lantern will repair or if needed replace the lighting fixture or components found to be defective free of charge.

Not covered by our guarantee:
• Ordinary wear and tear or damage caused by accident, water damage, flooding, fire explosion, improper installation, alterations or abuse. Steel parts are not guaranteed
against rusting.
• Broken Glass
• Exposure to the elements (sun damage, wind, water/moisture) and discoloration or fading over time
• Shipping charges, cost of removal and re-installation.
